ISSA’s EDIA Policy Statement

ISSA is committed to promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, anti-racism, and decolonization within the Information Management Student Association, Department of Information Science, Faculty of Management, and in the wider community.

ISSA works to actively promote and advance the success of initiatives through the following positions and initiatives:

  • EDI & Special Projects Chair (embedded role in ISSA)
  • ISSA EDIAD Consultant Role (paid position)
  • Provisions in our constitution to prioritize and address EDIAD in our programming and events
  • Soliciting feedback from our student population
  • Working with other EDIAD representatives in Faculty of Management student associations, and actors in the wider community

ISSA is committed to facilitating further dialogue around EDIAD and dismantling ongoing legacies of colonization and oppression.
